This morning, we went to Hereford Cathedral for Matins at 11:30am. Once again, the service was small in terms of congregation but the music was superb. It included the Venite (Anglican chant), the Benedicite in B by Sumsion and the Jubilate in F by John Ireland. The anthem was a favourite: O Thou, the Central Orb by Charles Wood‚ and the organ voluntary was Paean on Divinum Mysterium by Cook.
We then went to Worcester Cathedral for a "proper" look around.

Evensong at 4:00pm included the canticles as set by Howells in G and the anthem was Ave Maria by Parsons. There was time for a quick dinner before...
Evensong at 6:30pm which was sung competently by the Voluntary Choir. The responses were Smith of Durham, the canticles Dyson in F and the anthem This is the record of John by Orlando Gibbons. A fitting end to our stay in this area.
